Math Skill

We will continue working with multiplication.  We have been having fun making arrays.

This week we will learn about subtraction with regrouping. We will race from 100 to 0 during workshop to help us with this skill.

Regrouping Train Game

February- will review addition and subtraction strategies and introduce addition/subtraction with regrouping.  Please review skill at home.

Starting January 10th we will be learning about fractions.  A fracion is part of a whole.
Numerator - the number of parts you have left
Denominator - tells how many equal parts there were in all

We have been learning about telling time to five minute intervals.  We will learn about 2 and 3 dimensional shapes.  We will learn about faces, edges, and vertices of 3 dimensional figures.

We will continue working with money: counting change, adding bills and change together, and writing amounts of money.  PLEASE have your child count various amounts of money at home.

MONEY - we will be learning how to count dollars and change to $10.00. Pull out some change and let your child practice counting it.

We will continue to review place value.  We will learn about skip counting, greater than, less than, equal to, and not equal to with numbers to 1,000.
